Pressures abound for business these days, but that doesn't mean that opportunities don't exist, especially when it comes to growth and innovation.
Rubber News' quarterly M&A Live, set for 2 p.m. EDT Wednesday, will examine some of the ways businesses can harness growth opportunities by leveraging investments, establishing partnerships and marketing themselves for both.
Scott Shane, an economics professor at Case Western Reserve University, will join Managing Editor Erin Pustay Beaven to discuss some of the ways that companies—from large corporations to small businesses—can take advantage of those investment opportunities.
Registration for the free event remains open.
A professor of economics at Case Western Reserve University, Shane joined the Weatherhead School of Management in 2003. In addition to teaching courses in the areas of technology strategy and entrepreneurship, he is managing director of the Comeback Capital Fund, a venture capital fund investing in early-stage companies in the Heartland.
He has authored nearly 100 scholarly articles on entrepreneurship and innovation management, and has written or edited 16 books on the topic.
His current research explores five areas: how entrepreneurs discover and evaluate opportunities, assemble resources, and design organizations; university spin-offs and technology transfer; business format franchising; angel investing; and genetic factors in entrepreneurship.
