NIJKERKERVEEN, Netherlands—QEW Specialty Compounding B.V., part of the Dutch QEW Engineered Rubber Group, has acquired Rubber Compounding Holland B.V. from India-based Elgi Rubber Group.
The transaction, the terms of which were not disclosed, was completed Dec. 27, according to a QEW statement issued Jan. 17.
The addition, said QEW, brings a "significant competitive advantage" for the company's customers and enables the Dutch group to become a "one stop shop" for all rubber compounds.
Post-acquisition, the QEW subsidiary has changed name to QEW Specialty Compounding B.V./Rubber Compounding Holland, with the trade name Rubber Compounding Holland continuing to exist.
The unit specializes in advanced rubber compounds for demanding products and applications. The offering includes special black compounds, colored compounds, foam compounds, fluoroelastomers and silicones.
The company also plans intensify its focus on "compound innovation, development and manufacturing excellence."
