This acquisition marks a further pivotal step for Nova Motorsport toward becoming an independent provider of high-performance motorsport and specialist tires.
From its location in the European Union, Camac's factory is expected to serve Nova Motorsport's customers across Europe and the rest of the world.
The acquisition "represents a fundamental milestone in the execution of Nova Motorsport's global business strategy," James Weekley, Nova Motorsport commercial director, said.
In particular, Weekley said, the purchase "facilitates and accelerates the reindustrialization of the Avon Motorsport product range."
In addition to the acquisition, Nova Motorsport said it had recently employed technical experts and engineers to help deliver its growth strategy.
The company has appointed Mike Lynch as its chief technical officer, supporting the "recommissioning" of the 57-year-old Camac factory, located in Santo Tirso not far from Porto in northern Portugal.
"We are also uniquely positioned to collaborate with companies seeking bespoke tires for competition and specialist applications," Lynch said.
Camac was founded in September 1967 under the designation of Fapobol Tyre Factory S.a.r.l., with tire production commencing in 1969.
It was renamed CNB - Companhia Nacional de Borrachas S.A. in 1980 and adopted the name CNB / CAMAC - Companhia Nacional de Borrachas S.A. in 1988.
It's been under the ownership of Jorge Barros Rodrigues and Fernando Barros Rodrigues since 2009, when they "relaunched" the company after severals years of its operating under multiple administrations.
Camac returned to the motorsports arena in 2013.
Since its founding in January, Nova Motorsport has secured tire-supply contracts with three European racing series: RallyX, Peter Auto historic racing series in Europe, and British Hillclimb Championship.
