"This acquisition accelerates our efforts and provides additional reach with M. Holland's extensive customer base," said Jeff Cernohous, chief operating officer at Interfacial, in a statement. ""M. Holland has assembled a strong team and a successful consultative business development model to drive 3D printing adoption."
Interfacial, itself, created its Empowr3D division last year, "with the aim to help industrial end users adopt 3D printing into their businesses at scale," the company said.
Nagase acquired Interfacial in 2020 and the deal for M. Holland's 3D Printing Group is scheduled to close Sept. 29.
"With this acquisition, M. Holland can connect our customers with Interfacial for all 3D printing needs," said Peter Prusak, director of business development at M. Holland, in a statement. "Our broad customer base will benefit from access to additive manufacturing solutions, with the added technology and resources from our partner Interfacial."
M. Holland is making the move just weeks after selling a majority stake to Ravago Group based in Luxembourg. Ravago, with U.S. headquarters in Orlando, Fla., distributes, resells, compounds and recycles plastics at more than 325 locations in 55 countries. M. Holland distributes materials for almost 30 suppliers, doing more than $1.5 billion in business with more than 4,000 customers in 70 countries.
M. Holland, on the company's website, said the 3D business serves areas including injection molding, automotive, caps and closures, retail and consumer packaging, rotomolding and industrial manufacturing.
