WICKLIFFE, Ohio—Lubrizol Corp. is expanding its 3D printing-related capabilities with the acquisition of Loveland, Colo.-based Avid Product Development L.L.C.
Terms of the deal are not being disclosed.
Avid Product Development offers a variety of 3D printing-related capabilities, including prototyping and production services, as well as design and post-processing work, a news release said. The company serves the footwear, consumer goods, industrial and medical markets.
"Lubrizol continues to invest in opportunities that bring new differentiated solutions to our customers," said Gert-Jan Nijhuis, general manager for 3D Printing Solutions, Lubrizol Engineered Materials, in the release. "The acquisition of Avid Product Development greatly enhances our ability as a 3D-printing solution provider, offering complete product solutions from material development to printing and post processing services, delivering end-use products for our key markets."
Lubrizol has about 8,800 employees at more than 100 manufacturing, sales and technical sites around the world.
