ORANGE, Texas—Lion Elastomers L.L.C. has completed its acquisition of Firestone Polymers' synthetic rubber facility in Orange, according to a news release issued Aug. 1.
Lion did not disclose the purchase price.
"This purchase marks Lion Elastomers' second straight acquisition in less than five years and is in line with our initiative to expand and business and provide greater value enhancement to our customers," Lion said. "Our expanded product portfolio will further strengthen our ability to meet the needs of our customers, now and in the future."
The Orange plant manufactures polybutadiene, styrene-butadiene block copolymers and solution styrene-butadiene rubber under the Stereon, Diene and Duradene brand names.
Lion agreed to purchase the plant in June. At the time, it said it would retain the established brand names.
In addition to the Orange facility, Lion operates plants in Geismar, La., and Port Neches, Texas.
