IRVINE, Calif.—Integrated Polymer Solutions Inc. has purchased Seal Science Inc., a designer and manufacturer of engineered elastomeric sealing solutions. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Based in Irvine, Seal Science aims its products at aerospace, naval and medical applications, according to a news release from Integrated Polymer Solutions, which is a portfolio company of private equity firm Arcline Investment Management.
Seal Science produces low-volume, high-mix components, using a comprehensive set of material science and compound formulation capabilities that include polymers, fabrics, and electromagnetic and radio frequency interference materials. It has invested throughout its nearly 40-year history to create a best-in-class engineered components and materials science platform that allows it to supply critical national defense programs.

IPS identified Seal Science as a perfect fit within IPS' strategy of creating a world-class materials science business, according to Rich McManus, IPS president and CEO.
"Over the course of its history, Seal Science has developed an enviable track record of customer service, innovation and quality that matches perfectly with our values at IPS," McManus said. "We believe the future for Seal Science is bright and we take the responsibility of stewarding the company through its next chapter of growth very seriously."
IPS declined to provide more details about future plans for Seal Science.
Long Beach, Calif.-based IPS designs and engineers elastomeric components and tools for aerospace, military, medical and specialty industrial markets. It manufactures seals, gaskets, tooling, hoses, ablatives, EMI/RFI/thermal shielding products, encapsulated O-rings, and composite APU plenums and ducts.
According to its website, IPS operates Rubbercraft, Fabritech and Sanders Composites in the U.S., along with North Engineering in the United Kingdom and its North American distribution hub Creavey Seal Co.
