PARIS—Hutchinson S.A. has agreed to buy PFW Aerospace GmbH, a German supplier of tubes and ducts, as well as structural assemblies and components for the aerospace industry.
The transaction, terms of which were not disclosed, is subject to clearance from relevant authorities.
Based in Speyer, Germany, PFW is 74.9 percent owned by Airbus and 25.1 percnt owned by Safeguard, Hutchinson said in a statement issued Sept. 16. The company employs 2,000 people and, in addition to its German headquarters, has two manufacturing sites in Izmir, Turkey, and Nuneaton, England.
Founded in 2011, PFW mainly supplies components to Airbus and Boeing, according to Hutchinson.
The acquisition, the French company said, will reinforce Hutchinson Aerospace's fluid management expertise and help it become "a key player on the market."
