SALINAS, Calif.—Green Rubber–Kennedy Ag is acquiring Urethane Specialists Inc., a maker of precision parts for a variety of industries.
USI serves the food processing, pharmaceutical, printing, packaging, manufacturing, manufacturing and assembly, and shipping and distribution sectors.
The deal combines family businesses that specialize in "durable, high-tolerance parts manufacturing," Green Rubber–Kennedy Ag said.
"USI is capable of achieving tolerances with urethane that most manufacturers wouldn't attempt with metals," John P. Green of Green Rubber–Kennedy Ag said in a statement. "High-level service is what built Green Rubber–Kennedy Ag, so USI customers will feel right at home."
USI compliments Green Rubber–Kennedy Ag's urethane division that makes rollers and parts for conveyor systems, heavy equipment and machine components, the company said.
USI was founded in 1990 by Mike and Kathy Hodge when they assumed control of the former Sierra Elastomerics in Sonora, Calif. USI manufacturing is now at a Green Rubber–Kennedy Ag location in Salinas.
