Brisa expands into mobility solutions with vehicle tech supplier

TOKYO—Brisa, the Turkish tire-maker JV between Bridgestone and Sabanci Holding A.S., has acquired an 88.89-percent capital-shares holding in Arvento Mobile Systems.

The $18.1 million deal will allow Brisa to expand its existing portfolio from its core tire business to mobility solutions, Bridgestone said in a Dec. 15 statement.

The acquisition, it added, will also create synergies for Brisa as it integrates its existing tire products and service network with the Arvento fleet management platform.

Arvento supplies technology for vehicle tracking and fleet management systems in the Turkish market—providing fleet telematics, M2M solutions and vehicle-tracking systems to more than 54,000 customers.

"With this move, we will provide our customers with convenience, efficiency and productivity through fleet management services based on integrated mobile systems and data analytics," said Brisa CEO Haluk Kurkcu.

Combining the capabilities of the fleet telematics solutions we have developed with Brisa's strength and industry experience will create great opportunities for Arvento and the automotive industry," said Ozer Hincal, founding partner, board member and CEO at Arvento.

"The added value derived from Sabanci Holding and Bridgestone will contribute to Arvento in capturing further growth and reaching its targets faster," Hincal concluded.
