COLOMBES, France—Arkema S.A., through its Bostik adhesives division, has agreed to acquire Brazilian adhesives maker Poliplas Ltda.
Terms of the bolt-on acquisition were not released.
According to Arkema, Bostik maintains a Brazilian presence through its Fortaleza brand of adhesives, and now will add Poliplas' hybrid-technology sealants and adhesives to that Fortaleza portfolio.
"This project is in line with Arkema's targeted growth strategy in adhesives and in high-growth regions," the company said in a Feb. 9 release.
Arkema said Poliplas had about $12.1 million in sales in 2020, and maintains a manufacturing facility in Sao Jose do Rio Preto, in Sao Paulo. Poliplas has about 2,000 customers and its products mainly are used in the construction and industrial markets.
"Poliplas is a key player in the Brazilian adhesives market with a strong presence in different distribution channels, targeting construction and industrial markets that will complete Fortaleza's offering in the region," Arkema said.
