WETHERBY, England—Arkema said it will acquire Lambson Ltd., a Wetherby-based specialty chemicals manufacturer that advertises itself on its website as a global provider of raw material solutions.
Lambson specializes in photoinhibitors for curing, supplying markets such as electronics, 3D printing, digital ink, composites and high-performance coatings, according to an Arkema news release. These products will complement Arkema's Sartomer unit, which Arkema describes as "a global leader in photocure resins."
The acquisition also will speed up Sartomer's development in the photocure resin market while strengthening Sartomer's product portfolio, Arkema said.
Arkema expects to close the deal in the fourth quarter of 2019, subject to approval by the antitrust authorities of the relevant countries. It did not reveal the purchase price or other terms of acquisition.
In late July, Arkema disclosed that Bostik, its adhesives arm, was acquiring Prochimir, a Franch company specializing in high-performance thermobonding adhesive films.
In March, Sartomer launched in-house electron beam laboratories in its research and development centers in France and the U.S.
