Ace acquires environmental analytics firm GEOAnalytical

RAVENNA, Ohio—Ace Products & Consulting L.L.C. is digging in and taking testing services and capabilities to new places with the acquisition of environmental analytical services company GEOAnalytical Inc.

The nearly 30-year-old GEOAnalytical has focused on soil and groundwater testing to help ensure industry compliance. Ace said in a news release that GEOAnalytical is an EPA-certified company that "was a key player in establishing the rules for the Ohio Voluntary Action Program, which gives individuals a way to investigate possible environmental contamination and clean it up as necessary without punitive repercussions."

The acquisition doesn't just add expertise and testing to Ace's portfolio, it also enriches the rubber and silicone testing capabilities the company has established by bringing physical resources such as machinery, equipment and other assets.

At the same time, Ace will enhance the services provided by GEOAnalytical, according to Tom Morsefield, president and owner of the company.

"With the additional resources that Ace can provide, GeoAnalytical will be able to grow and improve its level of service by developing additional analytical capabilities and more fully assisting with Ace's ongoing and changing project requirements," Morsefield said in a statement.

Erick Sharp, president and CEO of Ace, praised Morsefield's leadership and noted that the companies' cultures complement each other well, which will allow for a seamless transition.

"The service culture that Tom built at GEOAnalytical is a natural fit with ACE," Sharp said in a statement. "I have always believed that one of the most important factors when building or expanding a testing facility is that you have the right people on your team. It's obvious to me that Tom shares that same vision."
