MAYEENE, France—Acaplast has acquired Brisard's manufacturing business, formerly owned by the Aksol Group.
According to an Acaplast news release, Mayenne-based Brisard reported sales of about $5.61 million with 47 employees, who Acaplast said will transfer with the business.
Acaplast said the deal provides technological synergies and increases its sub-assembly manufacturing capacity. It also will bring Brisard's existing customer base to new global regions.
"We are excited by the opportunity to acquire Brisard and its experienced and dedicated team," Acaplast CEO Jeremie Choukroun said in a statement. "We view this as a win-win situation."
The deal was approved in the Commercial Court of Lyon (France) on July 16, taking immediate effect, Acaplast said. The new unit will be named Acaplast Mayeene.
Brisard is an automotive parts producer that fits into Acaplast's external growth strategy, the firm said in its release. Acaplast produces custom designed rubber and plastic parts for the automotive industry and employs 350 in nine sites located in France, Tunisia and Morocco.
