The European Union’s Deforestation Regulation, known as EUDR, may not be exclusive to the natural rubber industry, but it will bring sweeping changes to it.

The European Commission sees the law as a necessary step to reduce global deforestation. Many industry stakeholders, however, have been divided on the regulation—supporting its intent to minimize the natural rubber supply chain’s carbon footprint, but criticizing the logistics surrounding implementation and how it may impact vulnerable contributors along the supply chain.

In a livestream March 20 at 2 p.m. ET, Rubber News Online Content Editor Sam Cottrill and Managing Editor Erin Pustay Beaven will speak with industry experts about the risks and benefits of the inbound EUDR and what the industry needs to know about being prepared for its implementation by the end of the year.
