David E. Zielasko, publisher, Publisher, VPDave was named publisher of RPN in November 2004, but he has worked with Crain Communications since March 1985 when he joined sister publication Tire Business as assistant managing editor. He became managing editor of Tire Business several months later and was named editor in January 1987. He added the title of associate publisher in January 1995 and was promoted to publisher in May 1998. In 1999, he was named vice president/publisher of Tire Business. Dave is a 1977 graduate of Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio, where he earned a bachelor's degree in biology/management. Edward Noga, EditorEd is responsible for the editorial content of Rubber & Plastics News. He joined the company as managing editor in 1979 and has been editor since 1986. He earned a bachelor's degree in journalism-news from Kent State University and worked for daily newspapers and an Ohio statewide business publication before coming to RPN. Bruce Meyer, Managing EditorBruce joined Rubber & Plastics News in 1988 as an assistant editor. He later served as labor editor and senior editor before being named managing editor in 1995. In that role he manages the daily operations of the newspaper, overseeing reporters, copy editors and freelance writers. In addition, Bruce continues to do some reporting, including covering the hose products beat. Prior to joining Rubber & Plastics News, he worked for three years at a daily newspaper in central Ohio. Mike McNulty, Senior reporterMike started as a reporter for Rubber & Plastics News in 1998 after working for several years as a writer/editor for a group of magazines and newspapers in Ohio. He covers several areas of the rubber industry for RPN, including latex, urethane, natural and synthetic rubber and belts, among others. Mike began his career with The Wall Street Journal, where he worked for several years in news production before he moved on to become a writer/editor for a group of Cleveland newspapers, primarily covering politics and government. Brad Dawson, Senior reporterBrad joined Rubber & Plastics News as a reporter in April 1998 and was promoted to senior reporter in January 2003. During his tenure he has covered several beats for RPN, including labor, industrial seals and gaskets, medical and rubber machinery, plus Goodyear and Michelin among the tire companies. Brad previously worked at the Medina County Gazette in Medina, Ohio, where he was an education and business reporter, and at the Sun Newspapers chain based in Cleveland. Miles Moore, Senior Washington reporterMiles started as an assistant editor of Rubber & Plastics News in 1977, shortly after graduating from Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in journalism. In 1980, he was transferred to Washington, D.C., as RPN's Washington reporter, adding the title of Washington reporter for Tire Business when that publication was founded in 1983. He was promoted to senior Washington reporter in 2003. Miles covers federal regulatory affairs, congressional action, the White House and Supreme Court activities as they relate to the tire and rubber industries. Contact Miles at mmoore@crain.com.
Dana Shaffer, Copy editorDana joined Rubber & Plastics News in 2006 as a copy editor. She worked for two years as an editor for two weekly newspapers in the Cleveland area after graduating from Kent State University in 2004. Kathie Harris, Editorial Coordinator, directory and buyers guide; editorial assistantKathie joined Rubber & Plastics News in 2008 as the editorial coordinator of RPN's Rubber Directory and Buyers Guide, and she also serves as editorial department assistant. Her duties include compiling and updating information for the annual rubber directory. She most recently worked as a graphic artist on a contract basis for Veyance Technologies Inc. Donald Sector, National sales managerDon started with RPN in 1980 as East Coast sales representative. In 1987 he was promoted to national sales manager. Prior to joining RPN, Don held various sales positions with Simon and Schuster's hardback and paperback book divisions. Brent Weaver, Classified advertising managerBrent has more than 25 years of sales/management experience. He joined Rubber & Plastics News as classified sales manager in 1998 after working as a classified sales rep for sister publication Plastics News. Prior to that, he ran his own advertising/graphics business in the Akron area. In addition to classified sales for RPN, Brent is also responsible for Mold Mart, Midwest territory display advertising, online advertising and booth/sponsorship sales for various RPN conferences including ITEC. Jennifer L. Poda, Sales representativeJennifer joined Crain Communications in August 1985 from her own advertising agency in downtown Akron and teaching at the University of Akron. Working first with clients in production and then marketing for Rubber & Plastics News, Jennifer transferred to the sales department in 2000 and now sells advertising, tradeshow booths/sponsorships and Web products for Rubber & Plastics News, European Rubber Journal and Urethanes Technology International. Jeff Mundson, Marketing managerJeff started with Crain Communications in 1995 as the marketing manager for Waste News, which was launched in May 1995. Since 1999 he has served as marketing manager for Rubber & Plastics News. He also is the conference manager for all the trade shows and conferences produced by RPN, including the International Tire Exhibition and Conference (ITEC); The International Silicone Conference; The International Latex Conference; The International Rubber Molding Conference; The Hose Manufacturers' Conference and the Automotive Rubber Executive Conference. Jeff started his career in 1971 with the Plain Dealer newspaper in Cleveland. From 1979 until he joined Crain, Jeff worked in several positions for advertising and marketing companies. Lori DiFrancesco, Sales secretaryLori joined Crain Communications in 1995 as the Tire Business and Rubber & Plastics News editorial assistant. In 2004 she added responsibilities with the sales staffs for both publications. In her editorial roles, Lori handles reader requests such as reprints and helps compile survey information.
