2015 ITEC In Focus: Testing Innovations

Registration is now open for a new "niche" conference and exhibition, ITEC In Focus, which provides a dedicated focus on cutting edge information and technical opportunities for a specific area of the tire manufacturing industry.  The inaugural conference will cover the vital area of testing of materials, design and processes  in the tire manufacturing industry.  ITEC In Focus: Testing Innovations will be a unique, smaller, interactive meeting designed to provide updates on testing opportunities and how they may better interact with materials and design innovations.  Join us September 16-17, 2015 at the Sheraton Suites Akron/Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio for the innauguration of this extension of ITEC!

2015 Hose Manufacturers Conference

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!  Planning is well underway for the 2015 Hose Manufacturers Conference.  The Conference, which is jointly organized by Rubber & Plastics News and Continental ContiTech, will be held Nov. 11-12 at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn in Akron, Ohio, USA.  This conference is ideal for senior managers, manufacturing engineers, managers and supervisors of plants, R&D compounders, quality assurance supervisors and those who are involved in the manufacturing of rubber hoses.


2015 International Latex Conference

The 2015 International Latex Conference is over!  Conference Chairman Jim Finn, President of Akron Dispersions, put together a diverse program full of cutting-edge presentations, as well as a great new interactive special program.  This Rubber & Plastics News event was organized jointly with Akron Dispersions.  Please join us at the next International Latex Conference in 2017.  We will look forward to seeing you there!

2014 International Tire Exhibition & Conference--Tire Manufacturing

The 2014 ITEC Tire Manufacturing Show Surpassed High Expecations!

The return of ITEC Tire Manufacturing to Akron, Ohio was highly anticipated.  The show floor sold out, was expanded, and sold out again.  Exhibitors and speakers alike came from throughout the world to participate.  Registration continued to climb, then surge, and onsite registrations continuing through the last day of the conference.  

ITEC highlights included the presentation of proclamations naming September 9-11 ITEC Days in the City of Akron and Summit County, the keynote addresses by Michael Hochschwender, President and CEO of The Smithers Group, presented jointly with The Tire Society, and the keynote given by James Hawk, President and General Manager of Toyo Tire North American Manufacturing.  In addition, the Harold Herzlich Distinguished Technology Achievement Award was presented to Professor Dr. Bernhard Blümich at a banquet in his honor.  The 50+ presentations included special programs, including the Forensic Tire Peer Review program. The Bio-Elastomer Challenge and the Recycling Workshop.  Finally, the Networking Cocktail Reception on Tuesday evening gave everyone a chance to get to know each other better at either the full bar or over an Ohio craft-brewed beer.

This Conference was held in Akron, Ohio on May 20 and 21, 2014 at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn.  The next International Silicone Conference and expo will be held in 2016, with the date and location to be determined.
