The conference program is designed to provide each delegate with useful hands-on information that can help manufacturing engineers, plant managers and operations engineers reduce manufacturing costs and improve the bottom line.

To better understand the value of attending the 2006 conference, here is a summary of what the delegates at the 2005 conference heard from industry leaders:

  • Until recently, LSRs have been furnished as two part (A and B) systems that made blending difficult. This presentation reviewed how the development of One™ Part LSR, has made it more practical to blend LSR.
  • Although color is a part of our everyday lives, many customers have a difficult time communicating color to their suppliers. Choosing the right color must also take into account pigment restrictions, FDA compliance, heat stability and catalyst systems. This presentation reviewed the basics of color, how to communicate color and how to avoid pitfalls in selecting the right color.
  • How Parylene, a vacuum-deposited polymer provides benefits of surface modification that range from the simple purpose of lubricity to one of the most important medical requirements of biocompatibility.
  • The recent advances made in LSR metering and mixing technologies for the LSR mould injection process. Future directions and potential advantages and disadvantages of specialized technologies and LSR processes were also reviewed.
  • Describing the use and application of adhesives designed specifically for insert mold bonding of silicone to other substrates such as used in the manufacture of rubber rolls and shaft seals for automotive transmission applications. Troubleshooting bond failures were described.
  • The benefits of molding very small silicone parts using all electric injection molding machines.
  • Liquid Injection Molding, including machine interface, valve gated cold runner systems, balance of flow and mold interface.
  • The dielectrical properties of fumed and precipitated silicas in HCR silicone rubber.
The KEYNOTE Address identified and analyzed the driving forces of change and provide each delegate with strategic insight and solutions to current and emerging global challenges.
