AKRON—After more than two full days of speaker presentations focusing on the latest development in tire manufacturing and design, the International Tire Exhibition & Conference came to a close Sept. 13.

The bi-annual conference, organized by Rubber & Plastics News, is a three-day event that includes a full schedule of technical papers exploring a range of topics related to tire manufacturing. The accompanying exhibit offers industry suppliers the opportunity to show off the most up-to-date technology.

This year's event ran Sept. 11-13 at the John S. Knight Center in Akron, and it included a keynote presentation from Rich Kramer, Goodyear chairman, CEO and president, as well as a special breakfast during which Steve Cron, co-inventor of Michelin's Tweel, was given the Harold Herzlich Distinguished Technology Achievement Award.

ITEC is set to return to Akron Sept. 15-17, 2020.
