When do tires need nitrogen inflation? (Part 2)
Much of the previous work involving nitrogen tire inflation cited initially was targeted at the issue of rapid aging of tires (i.e., the development of an aged-tire test). Some of the initial work in this area was reported by H. Kaidou and A. Ahagon11.
They found that the primary temperature driver in tire oxidative degradation was the environmental temperature rather than the operating temperature of the tire.
