The 5-K Walk/Run race on Oct. 9 during the ACS Rubber Division's Cleveland meeting drew a big turnout—nearly 70 participants.

The race has taken place at each of the division's spring and fall meetings since April 1994, when Tom Dendinger, then-division chairman from Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., founded it as the "Chairman's Challenge."

Dendinger, incidentally, received the division's Distinguished Service Award in Cleveland for his many years of work on the organization's behalf
