Failure of radial tires is rate but for a variety of reasons does occur. It is widely recognized that although the underlying cause (underinflation, road hazard, etc.) may vary from tire to tire, many of the failure mechanisms propagate in a manner that ultimately results in a detachment or delamination of part or all of the tread and belts of the tire.
