Zeon creates HyTemp for use in powertrains

Comments Email

Zeon Chemicals L.P. has developed HyTemp AR13FR, a new grade of its HyTemp HT-ACM material, for use in powertrain seals and gaskets.

The polyacrylate elastomer offers improved fuel resistance over traditional ACMs and HT-ACMs, according to Zeon. It has a service temperature range of -30C to 160C and combines the heat resistance of an ACM with the fuel resistance that approaches levels achieved by NBR materials.

The company said it offers improved compression set and sealing force retention by polymerizing with the HT-ACM cure-site technologies.

Additionally, Zeon now is marketing HyTemp AR214 for use in transmission oil cooler hoses and other automotive parts needing advanced properties.
