Silicone rubber extruders have employed roller feeders for strip fed silicone for many years as a means of enhancing feed and avoiding the strip from being cut off by the screw flight. Roller size and design vary somewhat among manufacturers, as well as the drive mechanism. Simplistic designs are powered from a gear directly meshing with a drive gear on the extruder screw shaft.
