An enormous number of consumer and industrial products utilize natural rubber latex (NRL) and other synthetic rubbers. Guayule latex (NRLG) can be used for a wide variety of medical device applications because its performance is superior to NRL and synthetic elastomers and it can be effectively used as a substitute in many applications. Additionally, it provides a safe material for Type I latex allergy sufferers. This paper will discuss in depth the effect of cure time, cure temperature, and film thickness on the physical properties of guayule rubber films.
