To study the effects of inflation gas composition, tires from current NHTSA studies were inflated with nitrogen and tested versus tires inflated with air for inflation pressure loss rate, rolling resistance and oven-aging followed by a road wheel durability test. Findings will be reported followed by a TRC/DOT-NHTSA/ARDL panel discussion.
