Effects of E-Beam on Crosslink Density of Silicone Rubber

This presentation will illustrate the effect of exposing silicone rubber to various amounts of radiation generated by an electron beam. An overview of the electron beam process and some of its current applications will be presented. The author will discuss the cross-linking mechanism of heat curing silicone rubber and will illustrate the effect of the electron beam process on the cross link density as well as the basic mechanical properties of silicone rubber.
