A new carbon black with high structure, wide aggregate size distribution and specific surface intermediate between tread and carcass grades has been developed for rubber applications where the unique properties this grade imparts can be utilized. Due to its high structure, it imparts a relatively high modulus, hardness and viscosity while at the same time giving relatively low hysteresis due to its low specific surface area and wide aggregate size distribution. Its excellent extrusion properties and durability of extruded rubber goods make this black a very good candidate for rubber hose manufacturing applications.
