Material Savings in Hose Production through Advanced Process Control and Target Optimization

This paper discusses a comprehensive approach to achieving material savings based on improved process control of both extrusion and calendering processes. Coordinated control of the overall process and accurate measurement permit target optimization based on real time statistical control algorithms. This approach results in both significant dollar savings from reduced material consumption per foot of product and improved quality. Typical real world applications and results will be reviewed.
