Recent needs for an expanded understanding of the changes that polyester body ply cord may sustain during the early life of the tire culminated in the subject study. Tires were exercised to various extents on a dynamometer, cords were extracted and properties were then characterized to evaluate moduli, retained ultimate properties, shrinkage levels, propensities for timedependent deformations (creep) and dynamic mechanical properties.
