THE EVALUATION OF ADHESION OF TYRE STEEL CORD BY ULTRASONIC TEST METHODS

The paper deals with the evaluation of the adhesion of steel cord materials for the reinforcement of car tyres using the method of ultrasonic stress. The results presented in the paper summarize the comparison of different steel cord constructions and different types of coating compounds. In the course of the experiment, temperature characteristics were also measured and the microscopy of the failure of the reinforcing material-compound system was carried out. At the conclusion of the work, the experimental results are compared with conventional test methods and examples of the microstructure of real defective places in car tyres are shown.
